Feeling Into

Biosensing, interactive video projection with sound, pulse sensor, arduino. 2014.

Feeling into is an interactive video projection. Taking the human body as the central site of the exploration, this biosensing artwork makes explicit our fleshy entanglements and affecting material constellations. The work implores us to feel how our bodily responses – our behaviour, thoughts and memories – control the levity of the sounds and visuals that envelop us.

The work foregrounds the intimate and vital bodily function of the heartbeat by projecting it into the public sphere using video and sound. Changes to the participant’s heart rate alters the projected video and the soundscape. Feeling into explores how lived experience is influenced by our embodied response, to being-in-the-world.
